East Kilbride pew, sort of

We bought these pews a year or two ago and this is the first one that we've made up ( we have about 7 which we can cut to size, within reason). They are probably the heaviest pews we've had, due to the massively chunky ends and the fact that they're pitch pine. They came from a 1960's church in East Kilbride, but originally, so we were told, they came from a huge church on Eglinton St which was demolished back in the day.
Check out the growth rings on the close up, very dense which explains the weight. Such a slow growing tree the likes of which you just won't see in todays timber yards.
This particular one is now sold but we have the bones of another half a dozen to make up.
