Details of Late Georgian Fireplaces

Georgian timber surround

Bit of a curious one this, I'm pretty sure this is a genuine Georgian fire but I just can't be certain, maybe its a slightly later copy? I ought to know as its now almost 30 years since I started doing this sort of thing but the case in favour: Old square cast nails in the back of the fire, always a sign of age, the thin, moulded shelf, the building it came from, a smallish house of the right period full of original fittings, including reeded architrave which was definitely original. The case against; its just in very good condition, clean on the back, though its been dipped at some stage, all the edges are crisp, no signs of wear and tear, cigarette burns etc and those 1/4 round pillars on either side? I'd rather they weren't there. In conclusion I think its an original fire that, maybe 20 years ago, was removed, stripped and restored and thats why its confusing me.
Its very nice though and if I thought it was worth buying, they I reckon someone else should too.
