foundry moulds, the tip of the iceberg

We are mid way through transporting a large number of these fascinating moulds from a thankfully still operating foundry who are having a bit of a clear out. I've not sorted them out quite yet so this is really a bit of a teaser just to whet folks appetite, but we have about 500 boxed up at work, all associated with engineering, including some from bits of steam trains and quite a few from the ship building company of Robbs of Leith.
Somewhere there are apparently various bits used to cast the very first jet engine, the 'goblin' which is now in the Imperial War Museum in London, but none of us, including the folk in the foundry , know what they look like, or even if they are still there for certain, but Frank Whittle did indeed work with the current foundry owners father.
More information to follow.
