Details of Late Georgian Fireplaces

Grand Georgian insert

One of the grandest fires we've had for a while, and one of the heaviest. From Edinburgh's New Town, it arrived without its back panel which we've replaced. In the pic you can see odd marks on the back panel, like those you see on a modern drain, these will sand off, its just that the plate of metal we used, which was flat, was resting against a textured sheet. Anyway, its a terrific fire, dating to the early 1800's, has an 18 inch opening and would really come alive when the brass reflects a roaring fire in its grate.
