Kilmarnock pews

We have quite a number of these that can be made up to any length (within reason). They are, I think, made of Cedar wood, which, I also believe isn't the same as the Cedar tree. all very confusing.
Anyway, these pews are best left in their original finish I think which is a lovely dark colour and really shows off the brass fittings well. Cedar wood was commonly used by furniture makers like Mr Mackintosh and has an odd greenish colour when cut and is known for being totally knot free. I am told that a lot of the old art school was made from it. A very Glasgow colour of pew.
Shown are a very long one we did for someone, about 3 meters and a shorter one in the process of being finished off.
