Details of Victorian Leaded and Painted Glass

painted cherub glass

Listed as Victorian but from a church built in the 1820's. These would have been the tops of windows once but are really nice in their own rights. The church which had a listed frontage, removed these (and all the similar glass listed) from the sides of the building when it was converted into offices a few years back. There was some fairly tenuous link with Alexander 'Greek' Thompson. I think the architecs daughter married him when he was a junior in the practse or something like that. We have 5 available (as of March) measuring 22.25 wide by 9.75 tall.
Amazing to think these were all done by hand, the cherubs are particularly fine.
